My goodness I had a surprise today when I went to water the garden and turn my compost. I didn’t think I would have any Amaryllis blooms this summer as it is getting late and the Amaryllis will be going for a sleep in late September. Most of the blooms will happen around Christmas or late January. I will take more photos as the blooms get fuller.
I wonder if there will be anymore before September.
Yesterday my friend Russ and I went for a short ride (so I thought), to Wabamun Lake west of Edmonton. I really didn’t know where we were going. First we stopped to look at some old cars.
Russ likes old cars, I was shocked at the prices that were posted.
We then went on to Wabamun Lake. The day was kind of dreary with a little rain here and there (showers). It was about a 45 minute trip to the lake. It was a warm day, we had to put the Air conditioning on. When we got there we noticed that there were not very many boaters on the lake, so we got the cameras out and headed for the dock. There were a few Canada Geese grazing at the edge of the lake and a few boaters getting ready to head home. I think we were there for maybe half an hour and then we headed home ourselves. Here are a few photos of the lake.
Then we went home. This little trip killed a few hours and got me out of the house. I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Hello everyone, I’m sure that you were wondering where I was all this time, well I was here. Between all the storms and the really hot weather we are having, I was working very slowly on my back yard. I have a few photos today for you to look at today.
I have a new Rhubarb plant that I planted in spring it has grown like crazy, I will harvest some of the stems for a pie in a few days ( Rhubarb & Cherry ).
My Clematis is doing very well, I believe it may be at least 25 years old or even older.
I also have another color of Gerbera Daisies but it is in between blooms right now.
All of my Amaryllis are outside this summer gaining some energy, But I really have to thin out the bunch, so if anyone in Edmonton wants a free Amaryllis plant then leave me a message at hhr52@shaw.ca Only Edmonton and area residents need apply for free Amaryllis plants. If I can’t get ride of a lot of these plants by September, then they will go into my compost bin.
Hello everyone, I told one of my followers (Vera), that I would post some photos of my little garden. It is being worked on right now, to get it to the planting stage. Last year my yard was re landscaped or regraded ( I didn’t think they did a good job). They also put in a tall fence. They planted grass on about half of my yard, I asked them to remove it last year as I don’t want to cut grass every week (re: buy a lawn mower for 2.5 to 3 meters of grass, no thanks). I kept all of my concrete sidewalk blocks so I had to put back 2 and a half rows of blocks in the last 2 weeks (my brother helped me). I still have a few edging blocks to install, but that won’t take long. Next week I will get some organic fertilizer or compost, to get the garden up to growing standard. I will also ad some peat moss. My yard is very small, only about 12 x 15 feet. It will keep me busy.
Well now you know what my little garden looks like. The perennials are coming up and also some weeds that I need to remove. but otherwise the garden is starting to look like a garden, rather than a construction site. By for now.
I processed more photos of the Garden Center so you may have a good idea of what they have to sell. I am just getting over a cold that has gotten a hold of me (I hate colds). So here are a few more photos that I have taken for you to see.

Hello everyone, Today was a beautiful day here in Edmonton Canada, the Temperature was a balmy 7*C and the snow was melting like crazy. Spring is not here yet but I’m not complaining. I figured that it was a good time to take some photos, so I grabbed my cameras and drove off to the Garden Center. I had a coffee and a piece of Apple Pie, it was very tasty. This year the display was not as large as the ones I saw in previous years. It was still very nice, but I was not able to get very many angles of it. The coffee tables were very close and I did not want to disturb anyone. I did get a few very nice photos with the new Camera, I also fiddled with the the movie feature of the new camera. Got 1 very shaky video. Will have to play with it a lot more. I found out that you can’t look through the view finder while taking video, but have to look at the view screen when doing videos. Here are a few photos for you to look at. I hope you like them.
For you Cat Lovers, this is the Greenhouse Cat, pretty young lady she is.

when My Amaryllis are starting to send out flower pods. I have about 6 plants that are going to bloom in the next week or two. I also want to take a trip to the green houses to see what is happening in the display areas of the Garden centers. Can’t wait till the snow is gone and I can get into the garden. I also think that I will be doing some camping this year as I now have a vehicle that I can sleep in. Will keep you informed as to how I am improving with my new hips, who knows I may be doing some dancing later this year. My old Dance partner is bugging me already, so she can dance with me. I guess I will have to get some practice and lessons going some I can remember how to move again (dance moves that is). I’ll put up some of my old Amaryllis photos here untill I get some new ones. Yesterday afternoon, I finnished my Physio treatments and now I am free to do the exercises that I must do to strengthen my hip muscles so that I can walk properly and without a cane. So now I will have to ride my stationary bike at least every second day and dream of summer days as I am doing it, there is so much snow outside and cold that it is difficult to walk anywhere. Can’t wait for spring to come around. Will have to top up the bird feeders this afternoon so that the birds can cellebrate the new year as well. I went to my friend Russ’s place to bring in the New Year with friends. It was a nice little get together, and I got home at 3 a.m. this morning. I slept in till noon, my oh my what a lazy day. Hope everyone had a wonderful slide into the New Year. In the mean time here is a photo, not sure which one I will pick but I hope you like it.
The weather is quite bad today so I figured I will stay in and show you what I had gotten a couple or three weeks ago. I was figuring out how to upgrade to a new camera and found I could get one for no cash money, but through Airmiles points. I was looking about 8 months ago at this camera but didn’t have enough points so I looked again one month ago and found that I had enough and went ahead and got it. I’ve been reading up on how it works and playing with it to use the video feature. I have taken a photo of it to let you see what it looks. Hope everyone is keeping warm. Once the storm is over I will take some photos with the new camera, then post them.
For those of you that want to know what model this is, it is a Canon T3 Camera. Wish I could afford the camera that Adrian has, but this was all I could afford and that will have to do. All my old lenses will work on this camera and that’s why I got it. Oh, I still have my Canon 10D and will keep it, it’s still a very good camera.
Hello everyone, I’m back. Just thought I would surprise everyone and post today. We were hit with a rain storm yesterday and woke up to a winter wonderland of snow and ice. I took a couple of photos just to show you hpw much it snowed over night. It is getting to the time of year here in Edmonton that this snow could stay until spring. The winf is cold today so I am staying in until this afternoon. Then I will go out and shovel some snow and de-ice my SUV. May get some groceries later this afternoon. Well, I going to keep this short today and show you a couple of photos of our snow.
